Iconic prints & balanced approach

Umbertina Tessuti was founded in 2026 in Lugano by textile and product designer Agnese Lombardini, a mother of four girls. This personal experience shapes the very heart of the brand: a natural blend of conscious parenthood and practical designs. The project began at home: the initial creations, designed for the family's living space, immediately captured the interest of friends and visitors. Faced with a growing demand for finished, ready-to-use products, Agnese decided to evolve. Drawing on a decade of experience as a toy designer, she chose to merge her creative expertise with her most authentic daily inspiration: family life.

Umbertina Tessuti was born: based on a true story. The brand celebrates the importance of the raw material; it is within the fabric, through our exclusive, in-house designed prints, that every creation defines its unique identity. At the core of everything we do is the desire to simplify family routines. We focus on creating essential, practical products designed to integrate naturally into daily use, bringing comfort and effortless beauty to everyday life. We design simple, practical clothing for mothers and children, as well as homeware items, all tailored around the rhythm of daily family life.

We do not follow the traditional fashion calendar. Instead, we work at our own pace, producing our garments only until our fabric stock runs out. In the meantime, we dedicate our days to raising and caring for our family. This balanced approach allows us to channel our energy into deep stylistic research and creative exploration. We pour our hearts into designing new and exclusive prints that give the brand its unique and iconic identity. Paired with essential, versatile cuts, our pieces are made to keep and cherish, offering children the freedom to move and express themselves day or night, indoors or outdoors, all year round. Ultimately, one of our greatest dreams is to design prints so distinct and deeply iconic that they stay with our children forever, becoming a visual memory that, even years from now, a grown-up can look back on and instantly connect to the warmth of their own childhood.

Rooted in our region & sustainability

We believe in the importance of keeping our production stages as close to home as possible. While we source raw fabrics internationally to guarantee the highest standards, we exclusively select Oeko-Tex certified materials and printing processes to ensure our products are safe and gentle on everyone’s skin. We are deeply committed to keeping the actual manufacturing process right by our side, allowing us to personally oversee and follow every single step from start to finish.

Our production chain relies on trusted regional partnerships. The prints are produced using Oeko-Tex certified processes by a specialised factory in Northern Italy. Each garment is then carefully assembled in town by a family-run manufacturing company. By keeping our final production strictly nearshore within the Lugano area, we guarantee fair working conditions, maintain total quality control, and minimise unnecessary transportation.

CREDITS

Our brand operates as a fully-fledged design studio, where every project is meticulously developed following all design processes. As Creative Director, Agnese has chosen to expand her design practice by inviting other creative minds to collaborate, specifically welcoming the artistic vision of illustrator Elena Skoreyko and the lens of Home&Fleur photography Studio. This collaborative spirit is at the heart of our work, and we look forward to further growing this network of talent in the future, fostering a space of constant dialogue and constructive exchange to elevate the brand’s identity.
